These conical horns are almost entirely encrusted in thick, rough layers of vibrant orange lichen. The growth is dry and brittle to the touch, with jagged textures that flake slightly at the edges, like stone left too long in the sun. The original ridges of the horns lie mostly hidden beneath the hardened fungal crust, glimpsed only in rare patches where the lichen thins. The surface crackles faintly when handled, shedding tiny chips like dried bark. A sharp, earthy scent clings to them; mineral-rich and faintly acrid, like scorched soil after lightning.
Some say the lichen isn't a growth at all, but a transformation in progress; one that has not yet finished claiming its host.
These short, conical horns are etched with jagged, uneven ridges that resemble wind-scarred ice or ancient permafrost. The base begins in a void-like navy, nearly black, and fades upward into a brilliant blue that seems to catch and fracture the light like frozen crystal. Their texture is frigid and coarse to the touch, like stone left buried beneath a thousand winters. Fine frost-like veining runs along the ridges, reminiscent of deep cracks in ancient ice floes. They exude a chill that bites faintly at the skin, and when held, a low, thrumming resonance can be felt; quiet and cold, like the echo of something long entombed stirring once again.
These conical horns are patterned with rough, bark-like textures that lend them an ancient, natural feel. The base is a vivid, almost luminous green, like fresh spring growth under sunlight, which gradually fades into violet near the tips. The colors blend in an otherworldly gradient that seems to shift subtly in dim light. Vein-like threads run through the ridges, pulsing faintly, suggesting a strange, alchemical energy coursing within. They feel as if their magic is drawn from deep, untouched groves where the air is thick with magic and decay. When held, the horns hum with a quiet, hypnotic thrum; like the whisper of something ancient and wild, neither fully living nor dead, stirring just beyond the veil.
